Bio
~MONica~ aka ‘mon’ ~ born & raised in the Philippines, family moved to the Bay Area (California) 15 years ago, and have lived there ever since. I wouldn’t trade the Bay Area anywhere else, ok maybe Seoul Korea XD, if given the chance I would love to explore that city and just ‘Seoul’ search (ok maybe with some added stalking XD)

Asian entertainment aficionado, whether it be music movies tv shows etc... I like to watch Kdramas and love KPOP music. On occasion I also tap into Taiwanese, Chinese & Japanese movies and music.

FANgirl for Life!!!

No not the psychotic obsessive type, ok maybe a lil obsessive but definitely not psychotic. I know and accept the fact I cant marry my idols and I wouldn’t try to own them and bitch at others nor try to kill whoever badmouths my idols. Im a fan of cute boys, movies, & music, simple as that. I've always been a fangirl, growing up i collected BBOP and TigerBeat magazines so I can post up posters of my idols, my first celebrity fangirl crush was JC of MMC (Mickey Mouse Club, but the first posters on my wall were of Jonathan Jackson & JTT (Jonathan Taylor Thomas) and practically all the cute boys that were on the covers of BBOP magazines XDDD. Then i moved onto *NSYNC, growing up watching the Disney Channel, I have loved JC on MMC and in 1997 I discovered that he was in a boyband group called *NSYNC with Justin who I also knew from MMC. The discovery of *NSYNC made the fangirl I am today. My sister & girl cousins and I became HUGE HUGE HUGE fan of theirs, and our family fully supported our fangirliness, i guess they figured they'd rather have us be obsessed over them than drugs or alcohol, especially growing up in the urban area of the Bay Area. Gawd i miss the *NSYNC days...camping out in front of the Tower Records store to purchase concert tickets, going to 15 concerts, YEZZIRRR THAZ RIGHT I SAID 15! 1-5...how was that possible? simple PARENTAL SUPPORT! hahaha!!! ok watever...moving on.... so as the *NSYNC craze has died down I then discovered Taiwanese Dramas, gosh remember F4 Meteor garden, ok so I was a few years behind the whole craze for them, but mang Vic Zhou & Jerry Yan changed my views of Asian boys, I actually found them cute. Then soon i got into Korean Dramas & movies, and RAIN totally got me into KPOP music which is what I absolutely obsess about now. Korean dramas and music totally had me oogling over tall hot asian boys, something that I never used to do before XD. My taste in music varies, as long as its good quality then I'll like it, i dont choose genres, but currently KPOP has been what's been fillin up my ipod. Started out with RAIN then led to Se7en which led me to love YG FAMILY. In between I’ve also discovered other KPOP 'HOTNESS' as what I like to call it. SUJU were my very first KPOP boy band, discovering them on their show SUJU Fullhouse on SBS channel, yes I am subscribed to Korean channels on DirectTV, learning all about the Korean culture has become a passion of mine...moving on...it took a lil while to find out SUJU were a group of singers, a huge group, i thought I’d never remember all the member's names but they're so darn cute and each are of their own character that you just cant help but love. KANGIN is my love (just a lil FYI).

And what's more just like it was with *NSYNC, I've fallen in love with BIGBANG a Korean HipHop/R&B group. They're a group of 5 young boys consisting of singers & rappers, and what I love is the pure raw talent that they all have and passion and hard work that they give their fans. I've followed their career even before they debut, watched them during their documentary days and I feel proud to see them succeeded and accomplished their goals. At the very beginning of their career, they always said they’ll be the ‘evolution of idol’, breaking through the bubblegum pop image of KPOP boybands and using their talent as their tool…and that they have done so successfully and I’ve never been so proud of them. They’re not a boyband, actually I wouldn’t consider them just as a HipHop/R&B group either coz they’ve managed to tap into all genres of music, and they’re true MUSICIANS with massive amounts of talent and potential. As you can probably tell by now, I AM A BIGBANG NOONA FANGIRL...THAZ RIGHT! NO DOUBT! No point of denying it, coz I am. Call me a loser or what not but these boys have brought so much into my life, beyond just the joy of listening to their music and watching them be aDORKable on tv shows but they brought me a whole bunch of Very Important People in my life. I’ve never imagined myself to meet such wonderful people from all over the world, and this had made BANG in my life. I will always cherish those sleepless nights of spazzing, the laughter, tears of sadness & joy, the adventures, and many fond memories that we had shared.

KPOP music in general has made a huge impact in my current life. I have met so many amazing friends through the love of this music. I attend events with people who I only met on internet chats or forums with the same interest, yet we manage to form a special bond that seemingly can last forever. This is something that I really appreciate with this newly found interest of mine. Some say I’m crazy and that I’m wasting money, effort and time, but what they don’t get is I gain friendships and contentment which is more important to me.
